A homeowner visiting his property was pepper sprayed by apparent squatters on Feb. 4.

The home was unoccupied and under renovation. When the homeowner arrived, he found a man and a woman. The man pepper sprayed the homeowner while the woman ran to alert a second man on the premises.

All three suspects, who are believed to have been squatting in the building, fled on foot and were arrested by police. RCMP seized a variety of weapons and suspected drugs. Charges have been approved for break and enter, and commit indictable offence.

RCMP is asking the public to stay vigilant and report suspicious activity or people to police at 250-638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
