Terrace secondary school students took to the track last weekend during a track and field meet held in Smithers May 7.

They were joined by students from Prince Rupert, the Nass Valley, Hazelton, Smithers and Houston.

Many of the Terrace students placed, here are results for those who came in the top two.

For Grade 8 girls, Reanna Peden took first in the 100m race, and Tania Cordts placed second in both the 800m and the 1500m races.

Summer Schulte placed first in the javelin event and was followed by Peden who also won second place in the shot put and first in the discus.

For junior girls, Anna Wilke placed first in the 1500m race, and Shaelyn Desousa placed second in the 100m hurdles. Isabella Lewis placed second in the javelin event, and Laura Steele placed second in both the discus and shot put events.

For junior boys, Lesley Green placed first in the 100m race as well as the 100m hurdles. Green also placed second in the 800m race and the 1500m race. Cameron Netzel placed second in the 400m race and second again in both the high jump and the long jump events. Keel Haldane placed second in the 100 meter hurdles and discus, as well as first in the javelin event.

For the senior boys, Chris Rzycyzki placed second in the 800m race.
