A quick run through of upcoming and recent sports events

Speedway

Cars will race in a speedway doubleheader on June 10-11, which is also kids weekend. Races start at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday and kids need a helmet if they want to take in a spin in the cars or join the kids bicycle race.

Biking

The Tour de Jackpine road race is June 11. The 95km race starts at 10 a.m. at Thornhill Pub, registration at 9 a.m. For more information email info.torca@mail.com

Ladies wrench and learn (bike maintenance clinic) is June 22 from 6-8 p.m. Free for TORCA members. Meet at Suwilaawks Community School on Scott Ave.

Gymnastics

The Terrace Peaks Gymnastics Club puts on a year-end show June 17 at 3 p.m., showcasing the skills the young gymnasts have learned this season.

Hockey

Registration for the adult hockey league is open now at terraceadulthockey.ca. Played in evenings, the season runs September to March for both the Rec division (18+) and Old Timers (35+). For more info, email Travis at travislamming@hotmail.com

Soccer

A drop-in co-ed soccer league for adults runs Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Caledonia Secondary soccer fields. For more information, call 250-635-3790.
