It may not come as a surprise for locals to learn that Terrace has been nominated at one of Canada's ultimate fishing towns.
The competition is hosted by the World Fishing Network (WFN), and the winning community will receive $25,000, as well as a feature about the town on WFN.
For the month of March, the contest is in the nomination phase where people are invited to beef up their town's nomination.
A spokesperson from WFN, Doug Drotman, said people can go to the website during the remainder of the month to build up nominations by adding photos, videos, essays or anything they want to enhance Terrace's profile, evolving it into a community nomination.
Actual voting will open up online April 12.
Last year, after 850,000 votes were cast, Port Alberni won the competition.
“How big a town is doesn't really matter,” said Drotman.
