Here are the Terrace bantam rep girl's team taking on the West Kootenays during provincial action in Kelowna March 18-23.

The Terrace bantam rep girl's team has returned home from tier one provincials in Kelowna March 18 to 23.

Terrace placed sixth out of eight teams, and assistant coach Mario Desjardins said he is very pleased with the team’s performance.

“They never gave up,” he said, adding the team played hard every shift of every game.

According to Desjardins, the bantams went into the tournament as the underdog team not expecting to win any games.

Game one was against the Richmond Seafairs Club team, which ended in a 19-0 loss for Terrace.

Desjardins said despite a lot of nerves and a lop-sided score of 10-0 after the first period, the team never gave up.

Game two was a must win against Kamloops.

The team came out fired up, and Jaden Kluss scored on her first shift, sending a wrist shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net.

Kamloops turned up the heat by firing 28 shots on goalie Desirae Desjardins, who turned away every shot. Terrace came out the game victor 1-0.

Game three was against the West Kootenays.

Terrace was feeling a lot of excitement off its previous win and came out flying in the first, getting a couple of good chances.

The team knew it needed a win to move on to semi-finals and managed to hold the score at 0-0 until the second period where West Kootenays landed one in the net.

Terrace had some good opportunities in the third and was fired up, but three more goals by West Kootenays sent both teams into a final result of 4-0.

Desjardins said overall that the coaching staff, with head coach Darcy Allison and himself, couldn't be more proud with the way our team competed, adding that it was an accomplishment for the team to place ahead of Victoria and Kamloops, two big female hockey centres.
