May 14, 1941 - July 13, 2021
Ted (Edward) King Farkvam was born in Terrace B.C. on May 14th, 1941 to Rose and Oscar Farkvam. He was the fourth child of six.
Ted lived in Terrace all his life surrounded by the mountains and the rivers which he loved. He learned to work on the family farm and developed a strong work ethic. He was adamant that he started working by the age of 2 and had pictures to prove it. He met his wife Lil as a teenager at Skeena high school and they remained together for sixty years. They had three children Guy Morgan, Troy and Marcy.
Dad's passions included hunting, fishing, golf and travel. Mom and Dad were fortunate enough to spend many a winter on the Mexican Baha in their condo. Dad became well- known in the golfing community as the head marshal.
Dad began his battle with cancer fourteen years ago. He went through many treatments over those years and was able to recover and continue to enjoy life. It was only two years ago that it took a turn and his battle came to an end on July 13th, 2021.
He had incredible courage and was continued with his sense of humor and sharp mind to the end. He went peacefully and had his loving wife by his side holding his hand.
He is survived by his wife Lillian, his sons Guy Morgan, Troy, and daughter Marcy, and grandchildren, Shane Farkvam, Hannah Farkvam, Ilan Farkvam, Isaac Cordeiro, Janna Cordeiro, and Samuel Cordeiro as well as his eldest sister Selma (Alan) Kennedy, his brother Oscar(Sandy) Farkvam and partner Lina Dahl, and youngest brother Fred (Margie) Farkvam.
He was predeceased by his sister Karen (Bob) Evans, and Lynn (Howard) Alaric
We would also like to thank Dr. Fourie and his staff at the hospital and home care workers that took such good care of Ted.
