1936 ~ 2021 BORN AT ALEXIS CREEK
It is with sadness and love that BOTH FAMILIES announce the passing of Stan, Oct. 05, 2021 after a short stay in hospital.
Stan was first employed at Williams Lake CIBC Bank in around 1953 - or 1955. He then moved to the Coast where he was a sales person for the Seed and Farm Company "Buckerfields". Also a very successful land developer in Mission, BC in the 60's. In 1973, he moved his family to Terrace where he had purchased Sampson's Poultry Farm, which turned out to be a successful venture.
In and around the Hazelton's he had a woodlot, some cattle, and grew some potatoes, which was run by his sister, the Walter's. When Stan's first wife passed, he married a widow, Beatrice Spencer Thain in 1995, who had 2 children, who adored Stan (the only Dad they knew).
Stan introduced Bea to the Chilcotin and his family, with SPECIAL every 5 years, camping; usually lasting a long weekend or longer. Bea introduced Stan to the beautiful and peaceful Nass Valley.
Stan also in later years did Mr. Fix It Project's and Reno's. Stan's humour was evident even up to 2 days before he passed and even thought he could still plan a subdivision the week before.
Those passing before Stan were Wife Florence, mother Nellie at 104 1/2, father Cifton, sister Janet, 2 brother-in-laws and a nephew.
Survived by Son Gregg, daughters Joann, Tammy and Elisa, sisters Joan, Doreen & Marilyn and brother Alan. Also wife Bea, 2 step children Russel and Deanna and 3 step grandchildren.
Thank you to the staff and the Doctors for their efforts to determine Stan's condition and his care at the hospital. To the Efree Church members for cards and condolences and phone calls from many special friends. Especially those seniors who in the last years tried to alleviate Stan's fears. Those would also include: his best friends Peter Branch and family, Jack Kenedy, Don & Lyn Kirby, Rick McDaniels Neufold's, Dalton Reed and his dear friend G. McCullough and Peter & Christine Bruce.
A Service to be held Oct. 30, 2021 at 2:30 PM at the Efree Church at 4640 Park Ave. Terrace. Please were masks. If covid rules change; please phone Church: 250-635-5115 to confirm this service.
