In loving memory ~
Roger Patrick Smith, age 78, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2022 with his companion and best friend by his side. Roger will always be remembered for his love of books and aerospace.
As an avid reader, Roger could always be found thumbing his way through multiple books at a time. This undoubtfully helped him become a master at crossword puzzles which he enjoyed immensely ever Sunday morning with the newspaper crossword in one hand and a fresh cup of coffee in the other. Roger enjoyed his crossword passion all the more during week long excursions at the Alders Beach Resort on Vancouver Island that, through the years, would become his own personal mecca - a place he found great peace and equanimity and we are sure he is now sitting on a beach log listening to the waves lap upon the shore.
Roger is predeceased by his loving wife Joanne, father Leonard, mother Sheila, and step mother Leila. Roger is survived by his step brother Mike, step sister Joan, his children: Ian and Colin, his four grandchildren: Rina, Julia, Gabriel, and Emilia, and his companion and best friend Sue.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, August 21, 2022 1 PM at 4904 Park Avenue Terrace, BC. This will be an outside venue. Please bring a chair and your loving memories to share with family and guests.
