April 18, 1925 - November 29, 2018
Lance Stephens passed away on Thursday, November 29th, 2018. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elaine; his children Craig, Duane, April, Rose, and Marilee; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Born in Saint James, Manitoba, Lance would grow up to join the navy during World War II where he served bravely as a signal man aboard a frigate in the North Atlantic. Following the war, he would move to the West Coast where he met Elaine. The two were married in 1950. They raised their children on a float house around Echo Bay on BC's central coast where Lance worked as a hand logger. In 1964 he began training to become an Anglican Minister and the family re-located to the Lower Mainland. Lance and Elaine later took over the parish at St. Matthew's in Terrace where Lance served until his retirement to a property in Kitselas where he and Elaine lived happily for over 20 years. He continued to serve  by leading services at the Lutheran Church in Terrace, and the Anglican Churches in Kitimat and Smithers.

Lance was a strong, independent man who had a strong connection to the natural world around him. He will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful person who always had an interesting story to tell.
