Lola Rosemary Dixon
September 7, 1930 - June 8, 2011
Lola passed away peacefully at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace B.C. on June 8th 2011. Lola was born in Chester Nova Scotia to Allan and Ola Derry.
She met Len and they were married in 1949 and began their family. Len and Lola moved to the Queen Charlotte Islands, where they resided until they moved to Terrace in 2006.
As a young girl Lola sang in the Orpheus Girl’s Choir of Hamilton. She carried this love of singing to the Charlottes where she joined the Anglican church and continued to sing for many years. Her beautiful soprano voice could be heard at many special occasions.
Lola was known as a kind and generous woman volunteering many hours for the Royal Canadian Legion Lades Auxiliary Br. 24 Masset and the Canadian Arthritis Society.
Lola will always be loved and remembered by her husband, Leonard, of 62 years, daughters Kathryn (Roger) and Louise. Grandchildren Cameron (Candice), Brendan (Leanne), Matthew and Samantha. Great-granddaughter Tegan Lola and brother Robert & Family.
Lola was predeceased by her sons John William & Thomas Allan and parents Allan & Ola Derry.
The family would like to thank Home Support for the wonderful care she received during her time in Terrace. We are comforted by the knowledge that Lola is at rest.
