September 19, 1956 - December 23, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laura Jean Biagioni on December 23, 2020 after a brief and unexpected illness.
She is survived by Robert, her husband of 41 years and their three sons Steven (Jessica), Kurt (Maggie) and Mark (Megan); grandchildren Theo, Tala, Avery, Barrett and Brooklyn; other family including her siblings John (Kathy), Marian (Peter) and Norma (Duane), and many nieces and nephews.
Laura Jean Biagioni (nee Dando) was born September 19, 1956 and lived the majority of her life in Terrace. It was here that she met her husband "Bob" and settled down in a small house next to the Skeena River, raising her children in a home that always seemed just a bit too small for the size of the family.
Laura's close friends and family knew her to have a kind spirit, with a laugh that would fill the room. She was generous and compassionate and made friendships easily, many of which remained lifelong.
She was an active member of the Terrace community: a long-time employee at Northwest Community College, a beloved member of the Terrace Community Band, a volunteer for the Pacific Northwest Music Festival, and a member of the Terrace Curling Club.
After retirement, she and her husband moved to Kamloops where Laura carried on curling and continued her love of music, joining the Kamloops community band. Between gardening, camping and walks in the woods they also made time for touring around B.C. and adventuring across Canada, Italy and Kauai.
She loved seeing friends and family at holidays, birthdays and get-togethers, often hosting gatherings and getting a quick picture of the event for her photo albums to share at the next one. Her annual Christmas letter which seemed to capture the year's events in rhyme with ease will be missed by all.
Laura was an affectionate sister, devoted wife, caring mother, a loving nana and will be missed by all who knew her.
A time for friends and family to gather to celebrate her life will be organized at a later date.
Her entire family extends a special thank you to the wonderful people at the Marjorie Willoughby Hospice for the incredible care and compassion Laura received.
