It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Joe. Although his health had slowly declined over the past few years, Joe was cared for at home until pneumonia took him to MMH where he died. A sincere thank you to Dr. Dhillon and all the nurses for the care and compassion given.
Joe was born in Povoacao on the island of San Miguel, Portugal. In 1963 Joe came to Terrace where he spent the remainder of his life.
Joe enjoyed coaching and refereeing soccer, loved to go fishing, looking after his yard, having coffee with friends and family, and he had a huge love of hockey and the Vancouver Canucks. Joe had worked for Pohle Lumber, Westar, and Skeena Cellulose.
Joe was predeceased by his parents Luzia and Manuel DeViveiros, and brother Daniel Viveiros. Surviving to mourn him are his spouse Teresa Kaluga, son Robert (Marleny), daughter Carmen (Kevin Jeffery), grandchildren Eden, Aria and Brooke, sister Connie Cordeiro (Manuel), brothers Manny and Tony DeViveiros (Edwarda), and many nieces and nephews.
Joe will always be remembered for his kindness, caring and respectful ways, his smile and the love he had for his entire family.
