April 17, 1932 - January 28, 2023
In loving memory ~
On Saturday, January 28, 2023, surrounded by family, Jack left this world. Jack was predeceased by his wife Jacqueline in 2012, and is survived by his children, Linda Barg (Mike) and Steve Beck (Terri), his grandchildren, Shawn Barg and Laura Beaulieu (Ryan), great-grandchildren Kezleigh, Zayden and Zayn, and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was quite literally a "Jack of all trades" and his various careers moved the family from Vancouver to the Okanagan, to Hope, briefly 100 Mile House, and finally to Terrace for the last 50 years. Dad loved fishing and camping and touring around in the motorhome with Mom.
Dad was never short on opinions and never missed an opportunity to share them! He also enjoyed a good joke and the laughter that followed, and it didn't matter if he was doing the telling or if someone else was.
He also took great joy and pleasure from the practical jokes and pranks exchanged with the neighbours when they lived on Bruce Crescent. He was often perceived as having a rough exterior, but Dad loved his family more than anything else and always did his best to take care of us. Dad lived a long full life. As much as he will be missed, it is a comfort to know that he is no longer in pain and that he is once again with Mom.
There will be no service at Dad's request, in September we will take Dad's ashes to Comox to be buried next to Mom. If you are so inclined, toss a pinch of salt in a Pilsener and raise your glass in his memory.
