It is with sadness that Edna's family announces her passing in Trail, B.C. Mom was born in Toronto and grew up in Port Perry, Ontario. She was raised by her grandmother Sophia, and lived with Uncle Cyril, Auntie Babe and cousin Hazel. She fell in love with our father, Robert (Bob) Sheridan, as a teenager and they were married in Port Perry on September 15, 1944. Dad then served overseas in Europe during World War II. When he returned from the war son Danny was born, followed by daughter Jane and son Wayne.
In the summer of 1953 Edna, Bob and their young family left Ontario to drive across the U.S. and Canada. They settled in the small northwestern B.C. town of Terrace, where Bob began working in the Smith brother's grocery store. They spent many happy years raising their children before welcoming sons Gord and Bob, and their last child, daughter Tracey.
Mom spent her final years in Trail with daughter Jane and family. Edna is predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), brother Robert (Bud), daughter-in-law Barb, grandson Avery, and great granddaughter Grace.
She is survived by her children Danny (Moira), Jane (Wayne), Wayne, Gord (Dawn), Bob (Denise), Tracey (Gregg); her grandchildren Conor (Holly), Bronagh (Jeremy), Aidan (Shannon), Keith (Clare), Lisa (Kevin), Matt (Angela), Grainne (Doug), Naoise (Matt), Aisling (Mick), Tanner (Tracy), Mitchell, Cole, Spenser (James), Sasha (Scott), Sophia; her great grandchildren Brody, Keegan, Isaac, Oliver, Jack, Maeghan, Owen, Brayden, Ashlyn, Anison, Leila, Maeve, Rory, Noah, Nia, Josh and Tommy. Edna is also survived by her cousin Dawn in Port Perry.
Our mother loved Christmas and the Holiday Season. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing and making every Christmas special for all of us. She was happiest at the table during Christmas time with her family, and welcoming many others who had no other place to go.
We shall dearly miss you Mom (Grandma), and always think of you and all of the beautiful Christmas stockings you made with love for each of us!
A memorial service will be held in Terrace, B.C. at a future date when all members of the family can be together. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence at the family's online register at www.myalternatives.ca
