An eight-hectare wildfire burning southwest of Terrace has been contained, say fire officials.

The blaze was sparked last Thursday along Whitebottom Rd in the Old Remo area and burned near BC Hydro power lines, putting the company on alert.

It is suspected human-caused, though what ignited the fire is still under investigation.

Firefighters from the Northwest Fire Centre remain on-scene today to extinguish hot spots.
