THINK TWICE if you plan on having a campfire as the weather conditions could lead to an uncontrolled blaze.
The Northwest Fire Centre is urging the public to be extra cautious with any burning due to increasingly hot and dry conditions.
While there are currently no restrictions on campfires or open burning, people should remain vigilant when dealing with any open flame.
Burning should be done away from branches, wood and other combustible materials.
Have plenty of water and a shovel nearby.
Never burn in windy conditions, as sparks could be easily carried to start new fires.
For large industrial-sized burns, individuals and companies are required to have a burn registration number, which can be obtained by calling 1-888-797-1717.
To date, the Northwest Fire Centre has responded to 17 fires, burning a total of 11,011 hectares.
