BC Hydro has officially opened its Northwest Transmission Line office in Terrace. It is on Park, right across the street from George Little Memorial Park.

Rented for some months and outfitted with furniture, official clearance for the opening came as soon as the federal government announced its environmental approval for the line on May 6.

“The City of Terrace appreciates BC Hydro’s commitment to the Northwest Transmission Line project by opening this office in our community,” said Mayor Dave Pernarowski.  He also mentioned the benefits of locating the NTL office in Terrace.  “This office will allow direct access to the project for local contractors, the public, municipal, regional district, and First Nations representatives and it will help facilitate the construction of the transmission line.”

TEDA Chair, Rob Dykman spoke about the impact of the NTL to local business. “The Northwest Transmission Line will provide huge benefits for businesses in Terrace and our neighbouring communities by making many major mining and run of river projects feasible in the region.”
