Terrace’s New Year’s baby is a girl, born 9:44 a.m. on January 1 at Mills Memorial Hospital to parents Bella and Chan Kim.

She joins sisters Stella who is three and Christina who is 20 months.

There’s no name yet for Baby Kim, who was seven pounds and three ounces at birth, but several are under consideration, says mom Bella Kim.

“We will have an English name and a Korean one,” she said.

Chan is a chef at the Ninja and Bella is a stay-at-home mom.

As of Jan. 4, Baby Kim is only the fourth baby to be born in northern B.C. based on information provided by Northern Health.

Prince George recorded a boy as the first northern birth at 12:45 a.m. January 1 followed by a boy in Dawson Creek at 1:10 a.m. and a girl in Fort St. John at 8:06 a.m.
