Terrace skier wins bronze at Paralympic Winter Games

Caleb Brousseau congratulated by Prime Minister Stephen Harper

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is among those today congratulating Terrace's Caleb Brousseau for his bronze medal win at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

Brousseau had a time of 1:22.05 in the skiing men's super-G (sitting) competition.

This is Brousseau's first appearance at a Paralympic Winter Games.

“I ... offer my sincere congratulations to Caleb Brousseau for winning a bronze medal in Para-Alpine skiing men’s super-G (sitting). Mr. Brousseau is an inspiration to all Canadians,” said Harper in a statement released today.

Since joining the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team in 2011-12, Mr. Brousseau has recorded five top-10 finishes at IPC World Cup and World Championship events.

The 2014 Paralympic Winter Games continue all this week.

Canadian teams are showing strong results in curling and in sledge hockey so far.
