Terrace RCMP are searching for a man suspected of attempting to lure a child into a vehicle.

The child’s parents called police around 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18 to report that their son was playing near the 4600 block of Park Ave. in the George Little Park area when a man approached, according to a Terrace RCMP press release. The man said there was candy in his van and the boy should come with him, but the boy refused and ran back to a parent.

The man is described as a stocky and middle-aged with dark tanned skin and a light patchy beard. He may have been wearing black pants and a grey shirt. No description of the van is currently available.

Police are asking the public for information, which can be submitted by calling Terrace RCMP at (250) 638-7400 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800) 222-8477.
