Terrace RCMP make car shopping arrests

Ensure that gifts are stored out of sight as you holiday shop

TWO youth were arrested last night for car shopping in the area of Gair Ave.

"Car shopping is a term used to describe thieves stealing from vehicles, often left unlocked. The simple precaution of locking your vehicle will help to deter this crime. Extra precaution needs to be taken during the holiday season. Ensure that gifts are stored out of sight as you holiday shop," says Cst Angela Rabut, Community Policing/Media Relations Terrace RCMP.

Police were called to a complaint of a person attempting to get into a vehicle parked in a neighbor’s driveway on Gair Ave last night at half past midnight. Two youth ages 17 and 14 yrs of age were arrested on Yeo St. They were in possession of a number of items suspected to be stolen.

Police are looking for the owners of cell phone chargers, a radar detector, and a thermometer. If you believe these items are yours contact the Terrace RCMP.

The youths were released to their parents and the incident continues to be investigated.
