A room full of marijuana plants, with enough dried product to make more than 20,000 joints, was seized by police in Thornhill Thursday evening.

Terrace RCMP are reporting that on June 7 around 6 p.m., officers executed two search warrants on a property near Thornhill Street and Old Lakelse Lake Drive after receiving a tip about a growing operation.

Police confiscated 723 plants, all in various stages of growth, along with 15 pounds of dried marijuana said to be valued at $68,000. Processing and growing equipment, as well as chemicals, were also seized by police.

One man was arrested on drug-related offences but was later released on a Promise to Appear in court.

More to come.
