The Terrace Bluebacks Swim Club came out on tops in accumulated points of its swimmers during a Dec. 10-Dec. 11 meet in Kitimat.
The club had 874 points with the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club close behind at 840 points and followed by the host Kitimat Marlins with 469 points at the Rio Tinto Invitational.
Below are the individual highlights of the Bluebacks swimmers. Their ages are in brackets.
Meredith Acal (10)
- First ever ManSask “A” time (qualifying time for Manitoba-Saskatchewan Junior Provincials) with a 39.33 50 freestyle
- Won the 200 IM. Cam second in the 50 backstroke and 50 breaststroke. Finished third in the 200 and 50 freestyle
Laura Billson (16)
- Gold aggregate (cumulative points scored) in the 15 & over girls age group
- Won the 200 backstroke, 400 IM and 100 butterfly. Came second in the 100 back and 100 breast. Finished third in the 100 free
- Achieved a new ManSask “A” time in the 100 freestyle
- Swam new personal best times in all six of her individual events
Kaylyn Braam (15)
- Tied for the bronze aggregate in the 15 & over girls age group
- Won the 400 free. Came second in the 50 back & 200 IM. Finished third in the 200 free and 100 back
- Swam new personal best times in all six of her individual events
Logan Braam (12)
- Finished second in the 50 fly and 100 IM
Kelly Choi (12)
- Silver aggregate in the 11-12 girls age group
- Won the 50 breast, 100 breast 200 breast, 200 fly and 400 IM
Paige Constantinescu (12)
- Won the 100 back and 200 free. Came second in the 400 free, 200 IM and 50 free Alana Dams (14)
- Came third in the 200 IM and 50 free
Kayden Downs (14)
- Came second in the 50 fly and 200 IM. Finished third in the 100 & 50 breaststrokes
- Swam new personal best times in all six of his individual events
Reed Downs (11)
- Silver aggregate in the 11-12 boys age group
- Won the 200 free, 400 free and 200 IM. Came second in the 100 breast, 50 breast and 100 back
- Hi time of 46.70 earned him his first ManSask “A” time.
- Swam new personal best times in all six of his individual events
Chase Goldsworthy (11)
- Won the 25 freestyle and finished third in both the 25 breast & 25 free
- Swam new personal best times in all six of his individual events
Noah Grielens (13)
- Won the 400 free and 200 breast. Finished second in the 50, 100 & 200 freestyles
Xavier Grielens (10)
- Won the gold medal in the 10 & under boys age group
- Won all six of his individual events
Caleb Harris (12)
- Won the 25 backstroke and came third in the 25 freestyle
- Swam new personal best times in all six of his individual events
Maddex Homeniuk (12)
- Came second in the 25 breast and 25 fly. Finished third in the 25 back
- Swam new personal best times in all six of his individual events
MacGregor Lambright (13)
- Came third in the 50 butterfly
Seamus McMurray (11)
- Won the 25 fly and came second in the 25 backstroke
- Swam new personal best times in all four of his individual events
Brook-Lynn Meijer (16)
- Tied for the bronze aggregate in the 15 & over girls age group
- Won the 200 butterfly. Came second in the 400 IM and 200 breast. Finished third in the 200 back
- Swam new personal best times in seven events
Alyssa Metzger (10)
- Came second in the 50 fly and 100 IM. Finished third in the 50 breast and 100 backstroke
Carlee Metzger (14)
- Won the 400 IM. Came second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 400 freestyle
- Achieved a new ManSask “A” time in the 100 freestyle
Nevaeh Mumford (14)
- Came third in the 100 breast and 50 back
Sienna Pretto (11)
- Came third in the 400 free, 50 back and 200 free
Carter Primosch (13)
- Won the 25 free, 25 breast, 25 fly and 25 back
Skylar Purita (11)
- Came third in the 100 IM
Thomas Sambo (12)
- Came second in the 400 free and 200 IM. Finished third in the 50 back, 200 free and 100 back
Marlee Swain (14)
- Swam new personal best times in all six of her individual events
Gabriel Ungehojer (13)
- Bronze aggregate in the 13-14 boys age group
- Won the 200 back and 100 breaststroke. Came second in the 400 IM, 50 breast and 100 back.
Finished third in the 50 back
- Achieved his first Swim Alberta Provincial Championship qualifying times in the 200 back (2:32.68) and 100 breast (1:22.43). Also achieved a new ManSask “AA” (Manitoba-Saskatchewan Provincial Championship qualifying time) time in the 400 IM
Oliver Ungehojer (15)
- Won the 400 IM and 200 breaststroke
Abrielle Weston (11)
- Came second in the 100 IM and third in both the 50 fly & 100 free
- Swam new personal best times in all six of her individual events
Sequoia Wood (13)
- Came second in the 100 breaststroke and 400 IM. Finished third in the 200 breast
- Swam new personal best times in all six of her individual events
