The 2023 Terrace Riverboat Days Open Men’s & Ladies Basketball Tournament is set to kick off on August 4, showcasing the newly installed basketball floor and hoops at the Terrace Sportsplex.
Installed on May 1, the temporary floor aims to provide an enhanced playing experience for participants in the popular annual tournament and beforehand.
This year’s tournament registration deadline is July 21. The fourth annual event, which runs until August 10, depending on team entry, will also include the second annual Ladies Masters Division.
Keith Azak, who is the tournament organizer, said the inaugural Ladies Masters Division was a huge success, with Terrace winning in that division. However, there may be even more interest in this division this year.

“We’ve seen a growing interest in the Ladies Masters Division,” Azak said. Next year, there may be upwards of 11 teams in the Ladies Masters Division, he predicted.
The expansion of the tournament to include three gyms, in addition to the main Terrace Sportsplex, ensures ample space for the increasing number of participating teams.
Access to the new basketball floor and hoops will be available through the Terrace Sportsplex, offering players and spectators alike an opportunity to experience the upgraded facilities.
