The lands director for the Tahltan Central Government, Nalaine Morin was recognized with a national award for her leadership and promoting diversity and inclusivity.

Morin is one of the 11 recipients of the inaugural 2022 Canadian Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Award. Organized by the Women’s Executive Network, the award is presented to outstanding leaders for their contributions toward making Canada more equitable, diverse and inclusive, both in their workplaces and in their communities

Morin’s work was recognized in the category of corporate board directors awards, owing to her service on myriad boards such as BC Hydro and Geoscience BC. In addition to being the lands director for the northwest B.C. First Nation, Morin also chairs the Tahltan Stewardship initiative and is the principal at ArrowBlade Consulting Services.

In the past, she has also been recognized for her contribution to the mineral industry and is the recipient of the prestigious 2021 Skookum Jim Award.

The award ceremony is scheduled for May 26, in combination with the second annual Canadian Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Summit taking place virtually from May 25-26.
