TERRACE RCMP has determined a fire on the south side was arson.
Terrace RCMP and the Terrace Fire Department were called to the fire at approximately 6 p.m. on May 1st after smoke was observed coming from the laundry room at a building in the 2600 block of Tetrault St., reported police today, May 3.
A tenant of the building used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire before there was any structural damage, said police.
A tenant witnessed the smoke rising to his apartment and immediately pulled the fire alarm. A second tenant used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out before it grew. These people need to be commended for their quick actions that prevented significant damage to property and possibly saved lives,
