THE SOUND of warning beeps from heavy machinery is being heard all over Terrace this past few days as snow is cleared from city streets.
Dump trucks line up as front end loaders scoop up the snow and load them up for transport.
The effort began as soon as possible over the weekend.
Blowing snow on Saturday made it difficult if not impossible to clear away.
But by Sunday wind conditions had calmed down to the point clearing could begin.
Drivers had to be extra cautious when driving to make sure they could turn safely at intersections where snowpiles had yet to be cleared.
