Kitimat RCMP officers now have half masks with filters donated by Rio Tinto.
“Community partnerships and collaboration have always been essential to how the RCMP polices and keeps the communities it serves safe,” said RCMP Corporal Brad McKinnon.
“In time like this, those partnerships are more vital than ever. The Kitimat RCMP detachment is more committed than ever to keeping our community safe and thanks to Rio Tino and their donation of respirators to the police officers of this detachment, we can continue to do our part to win the battle against COVID-19.”
Rio Tinto’s donation is of 25 of the masks as well as safety glasses.
“The Rio Tinto Aluminium team in Kitimat continues to find ways to support our front line workers, like our local RCMP members, in their fight against COVID-19,” the company noted in a release.
RCMP officers were fit-tested for the masks yesterday by Rio Tinto employees.
