Phone, cable lines damaged at business

Terrace RCMP believe large vehicle caught the lines, pulling a 6x6 post off a building.

TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 33 calls for service from August 7, 8 a.m. till August 8, 8 a.m.

During the same time period, there were nine people lodged in Terrace cells – eight of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

man asleep in a back staircase of a business on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a 36-year-old man for public intoxication.

elderly man wandered away from his wife and is missing. The man was located safe.

motor vehicle incident at Park Ave./Sparks St.

possible break and enter on Kalum St. Unsubstantiated.

Elsewhere Terrace

mischief to phone and cable lines at Superior Propane on Keith Ave. It appears the lines were hooked by a large vehicle and pulled over, causing a 6x6 post attached to the building to break off. Damage was extensive.

intoxicated man outside of Walmart. Police located the 42-year-old man walking on Hwy 16 and arrested him for public intoxication. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital to be assessed before lodging in cells.

man passed out at the Real Canadian Wholesale Club. Police spoke with the 59-year-old man.

false 911 call received as the result of repairing the phone lines at Superior Propane.

intoxicated group on the arena hill. Of the 10 people on the hill, four were arrested for public intoxication.

intoxicated man at George Little Park. Police arrested a 67-year-old man for public intoxication.

a man stripping a vehicle at Keith Ave./Kalum St. Unfounded.

AWOL 52-year-old woman.

group of youth causing a disturbance and climbing on the theatre on Straume Ave./Thomas St. Police located the group and spoke with them. They denied climbing on the arena. They were going home.

pitbull on the loose in the area of 4600 block of Loen Ave. Checks were done of area.

breach of a no contact order investigation.

a wallet containing various cards and ID was lost on the Sande Overpass.

assist Prince Rupert RCMP with a warrant for a man.

theft of a custom black BMX Devidas bike with brass fittings on the evening of August 1 on Mark Ave.

false panic alarm on Queensway Dr.

Rural

intoxicated man biking on Lazelle Ave. near the bowling alley. Police arrested the 47-year-old man for public intoxication.

possible shots heard near Kreston St. Checks were done of the area.

possible impaired in a grey 2007 Ford Ranger. Police located the vehicle at the business it was registered to and spoke with the driver. Unsubstantiated.

Gitaus

familial dispute. Police spoke with the people involved.

Kitsumkalum

domestic dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. Unfounded. Intoxication was involved. Police were called back for a second time a couple hours later. A 31-year-old man involved in the domestic situation was observed yelling in the street with two other men. He was arrested for mischief. A short time later police were called back when one of the men who was involved in the altercation outside was now causing problems at a residence. Police spoke with everyone involved and it was agreed to stop talking till cooler heads could prevail.
