The Terrace Christian Reformed Church is aiming to forever change the lives of a refugee family with the help of the community.

The church is trying to raise $40,000 to sponsor a Syrian refugee family with the goal of reuniting them with extended family members in Canada and helping them settle in Terrace. According to the church, the family has been living in a refugee camp in Lebanon for the past eight years.

As part of that effort, there is an online auction taking place through Facebook on Nov. 19 and 20. Terrace Christian Reformed Church is asking that anyone who has something to donate to the auction contact fundraising coordinator contact Ali McCullough at allison116@hotmail.com.

The sponsorship project is in partnership with World Renew, a Christian Reformed Church charity founded in 1962.
