The Terrace-Kitimat Airport Society officially announced the completion of phase two of the air terminal construction project today.

It marks the opening of the new departure terminal check in area, complete with a separate bag screening area to speed up the screening process.

“I am pleased with the progress being made on the Northwest Regional Airport Facility Expansion project,” said the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities.

“This important transportation project is creating economic opportunities for the province and making Terrace and Kitimat more inclusive and sustainable communities. Such strategic infrastructure investments will ensure that Canadian communities remain among the best places in the world to live, work and raise a family.”

Work continues for phase three of the four-phase project.
