Esau Guno, 20, who police say is a prolific offender, was handed the jail sentence after he pleaded guilty to one charge of breach of probation earlier this month, said officer in charge Sgt. Donovan Tait.

On the morning of April 10, officers were called to a fight in the village of New Aiyansh that involved an intoxicated male well-known to police in the Nass Valley and Terrace, said Tait in a release.

Guno, who was on probation for three convictions with conditions that included not consuming alcohol, fled when and officers arrived, said Tait.

Police pursued him on foot and after a lengthy chase through the village, Guno was arrested, taken into custody. and charged with breaching the conditions of his probation and obstructing a peace officer, said Tait.
