Man gets his wish by being arrested

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 70 calls for service from June 21st, 8 am till June 23rd, 8 am.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 70 calls for service from June 21st, 8 am till June 23rd, 8 am. During the same time period ten people were lodged in Terrace Cells. Nine of these people were lodged for intoxication.

Downtown Terrace

  • A teen girl was followed by a man while walking across town. Police spoke with the girl and checks of the area were done.
  • A man passed out on Greig Ave. BC Ambulance transported the man to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • An intoxicated man punched and broke the glass window of a restaurant while walking by. Police arrested the 19 yr old man and requested the assistance of BC Ambulance due to the injuries he received from breaking the glass. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • A man telling people on Lakelse Ave that he wanted to go to jail. Police spoke with the man and eventually arrested him.
  • A power line down at Brolly Square. Checks of the area were done. Unsubstantiated.
  • Intoxicated man outside of a restaurant on Lakelse Ave. Checks of the area were done.
  • Domestic dispute. Police spoke with a couple. Verbal only.
  • Threats on the internet. Under investigation.
  • Police observed a man consuming alcohol on Lakelse Ave. The man was spoken with and alcohol was dumped.
  • An intoxicated man yelling on Greig Ave. Police spoke with the uncooperative man. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment and then arrested.
  • Intoxicated man refusing to leave a location. Police transported the man to another location.
  • An IPad was stolen.

Elsewhere Terrace

  • A warrant was issued for a 42 yr old man for failing to attend court.
  • A student with blood on him at a school. Police spoke with the people involved.
  • A trailer, snowplow blade, and a large amount of cedar logs were stolen from a property on Hwy 16/Copper River Forest Service Road.
  • Alarm at a school. Police spoke with two students who were involved in a fight.
  • Request to assist Bylaws Officer.
  • Shoplifter at Walmart. Police spoke with the youth. A parent is dealing with the issue.
  • A 2014 blue Ford truck and a grey 2000 Pontiac Sunfire collided at Kalum St/Keith Ave. Both drivers and one passenger of the Sunfire were transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
  • Threats were uttered over money owed. Police spoke with the people involved.
  • Abandoned 911 call. Police spoke with the caller.
  • Suicidal woman. Police spoke with the woman. Unsubstantiated.
  • Intoxicated man at Mills Memorial Hospital. Police arrested the man.
  • Three dogs at large near Keith Ave/Tetrault St. Police rounded up the dogs with the assistance of the public and they were delivered to the animal shelter.
  • Police assisted BC Ambulance with an uncooperative patient.
  • Missing youth. Chronic runaway. The youth returned home later in the night.
  • Two calls from an upset person. Police spoke with the person and advised them to go to bed and get some sleep.
  • Suspicious circumstance. A man in a neon green shirt and a ball cap driving a Dodge Ram with a blue or purple tail light offered two people a ride then sped off when refused.
  • False business alarm on Hwy 16 west.
  • A man broke a basement window of a residence in a fit of anger. Police spoke with the people involved. The 19 yr old man was arrested.
  • A person passed out on Tetrault St. Police spoke with the people involved. BC Ambulance transported the youth to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • Assist the public with a landlord/tenant issues.
  • Deceased 54 yr old man at a residence on Keefer St.
  • A warrant was issued for a 38 yr old woman for failing to attend court.
  • Intoxicated group drinking in George Little Park. Police spoke with the group and dumped some alcohol.
  • Intoxicated man on Eby St. Police arrested the man and turned him over to BC Ambulance to transport to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • Traffic hazard near the CN Tracks. Checks of the area were done.
  • Intoxicated man refusing to leave the George Little Park. Police arrested the man.
  • Three youth attempting to get into a trailer on a property on Agar Ave. Checks of the area were done.
  • False residential alarm on Bailey St.
  • A Kona Fire Mountain bike with a back rack and a spike front fender was stolen from a residence on Steller’s Jay Dr during the night of June 21/22.
  • A threat was uttered via Facebook. Police spoke with a person.
  • An intoxicated man leaning over the rail of the new bridge. Checks were done of the area.
  • Arson in behind the curling rink. Police spoke with two young men in the area who were testing a little invention they had made. No offence.
  • A man passed out on Kalum St. Police arrested the man.
  • False business alarm on Hwy 16 west.
  • Domestic dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. Verbal argument.
  • A group of people fighting down by the railroad tracks. Checks of the area were done.
  • Familial dispute. Police spoke with the people involved and a resolution was reached.
  • Missing person. A call was received a short time later that it was miscommunication.
  • Suicidal woman. Police apprehended the woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial hospital.
  • Intoxicated youth attempted to jump out of a moving truck. Police arrested the youth.
  • An intoxicated man passed out on a patio. Police arrested the man.
  • Unknown people banging on the door of a residence on Walsh Ave. Checks of the area were done.
  • Assault. A woman was bit and punched by another woman. The injuries were minor. Under investigation.
  • Suicidal woman. Police apprehended the woman under the Mental Health Act and transported her to Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • Breach of a no contact condition. Under investigation.

Thornhill

  • Unlicensed driver. Checks were conducted. Unfounded.
  • A group of teen boys walking with backpacks in the middle of the night. Checks of the area were done.
  • Domestic dispute. Police spoke with the uncooperative people involved.
  • Ongoing issue of dirt bikes and speeding vehicles on Queensway Dr.
  • A driver in a blue Toyota 4 door truck having a bout of road rage.
  • Suspicious man walking around the area of Hwy 37/Hwy 16. Checks of the area were done.
  • Assist Thornhill Fire Department with a vehicle fire on Paquette Ave. The Terrace Forensic Identification Section and Terrace General Investigation Unit are assisting with the investigation.

Kitsumkalum

  • Impaired driver in a burgundy station wagon. Police located the driver at a motel and he was spoken with.
  • Abandoned vehicle on Hwy 16 near the Tempo. Police spoke with the registered owner.

Gitaus

  • Domestic dispute. Police spoke with an intoxicated woman and could not get a straight answer.
