Man charged with assault for sucker punching another man

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 58 calls for service from Jan. 9, 8 a.m. till Jan. 11, 8 a.m.

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 58 calls for service from Jan. 9 at 8 a.m. till Jan. 11, 8 a.m. During the same time period three people were lodged in Terrace cells. Two of these people were lodged for intoxication. Here are some of the calls they responded to:

Shoplifting at Walmart. Police arrested a 26 yr old man. Under investigation.

Skeena mall security arrested a shoplifter at a business. Police arrested the intoxicated 22 yr old woman. She was in breach of conditions of not to consume alcohol. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.

A white Geo Tracker was pulled over on Muller Ave/Clark St. The 69 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. He was served a driving suspension. His did not have a valid driver’s licence.

A man causing problems at the shelter on Hall St. Police spoke with the 60 yr old man. He was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A man hiding knives and acting in an irrational manner. Police apprehended a 52 yr old man under the Mental Health Act and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital.

A white 2001 Dodge Caravan was pulled over on Sande Ave/Toynbee St. The 47 yr old driver did not have a valid driver’s licence and had a notice to be served a driving prohibition. Same done. The vehicle was impounded.

Domestic assault in the parking lot of Safeway. A man was assaulted. No injuries. Under investigation.

A white 2011 GMC truck was pulled over on Hwy 16/Hwy 37. The 42 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in warns. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.

A 15 yr old youth is stealing his parents’ marihuana and selling it via social media. Police spoke with the people involved and requested the assistance of the Ministry of Children and Families.

A man picking fights with people on Lakelse Ave. Police arrested a man matching the description provided. He was in possession of bear mace that was seized. Esau Guno, 21 yrs old, has been charged with failing to comply with probation, carrying a concealed weapon, and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He is held for court.

Fight at a residence on Kalum St. Police observed a 32 yr old man on top of a 23 y r old man punching him. The two were separated but then the 32 yr old man threw in one more kick. While exiting the residence the 32 yr old man again assaulted the 23 yr old with a sucker punch. Both men were transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Charges of obstruct peace officer and assault are being forwarded on the 32 yr old man.
