Man assaulted, firearms stolen in Thornhill break and enter incident

A Thornhill man sustained injuries in an assault after two masked men broke into his home and stole firearms and other items during the early hours of Jan. 26, according to an RCMP media release.

Terrace RCMP suspect the incident, which took place in the neighbourhood of Simpson Cres., to be a “targeted offence.”

The man sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital by first responders for treatment,” the police said in the release.

“Terrace RCMP received a call to a home in Thornhill with information that at least two masked suspects, believed to be men, burst into his home.”

Police are asking for public assistance in locating the two masked men who ran away from the crime scene.

The RCMP is asking anyone with video surveillance in the neighbourhood of Simpson Cres. to check their cameras between 11:00 p.m. on Jan. 25 and and 1:00 a.m. on Jan. 26 for any suspicious activity, vehicles or people.
