Locker theft at the Aquatic Centre

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 103 calls for service from May 24, 8 AM till May 27, 8 AM.

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 103 calls for service from May 24, 8 AM till May 27, 8 AM. During the same time period there were 24 people lodged in Terrace Cells. 21 of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

  • A blue 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier was checked on Hwy 16 near Exchamsiks River. The 33 yr old driver was prohibited. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • A brown and purple back pack containing an Xbox with related cords, several games, CDs, DVDs, and other items was found in the freezer compartment of an old fridge.
  • Group of people drinking at the basketball courts on Kalum St and writing on the walls. Police dumped some alcohol and spoke with the group.
  • A man had the keys stolen from his unlocked locker at the Terrace Aquatic Center. The thieves then used the keys to access a blue 2005 Dodge D150 truck and steel a wallet containing various cards and ID.
  • Two intoxicated men were refused service at the Evergreen Inn and are refusing to leave. They left in a taxi prior to police attendance. One of the men had kicked an exterior wall causing a clock to fall down and break. Police followed up at the Bear Country Inn. The men were refused service at that location as well due to rude and obnoxious behavior. Checks were done of the area.
  • An intoxicated man with a chain saw yelling and threatening people at Red Sands Campground. Police arrested a 38 yr old man.
  • Four intoxicated people on four separate occasions were arrested for public intoxication at Mills Memorial Hospital.
  • Intoxicated man passed out on the floor of the Best Western Inn restaurant. Police arrested the 29 yr old man. He refused to follow direction and attempted to fight the police officer. He was pepper sprayed.
  • Police checked a green 1994 Ford Taurus on Clark St. The 27 yr old driver was under the influence of an intoxicating substance. He was issued a driving suspension.
  • A black 1982 Volkswagen parked at the Esso on Hwy 16 was checked. The 22 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was given an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
  • Single vehicle collision on Hwy 113 20 km north of Terrace. A silver 2013 Chevrolet truck lost control , crossed the opposite lane, went off road, travelled 150 meters through scrub, crossed a dry creek bed, then came to a stop 10 meters off road. The 39 yr old driver was uninjured. The truck sustained severe damage and was towed.
  • Domestic dispute. Police attended to a residence. A 31 yr old man was found deceased. Foul play is not involved and the investigation has been turned over to the coroner.
  • A man kicked a door into a room of the Best Western Inn because he did not have a key. Police arrested a 50 yr old man for mischief. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • Hit and run of a business. A large truck or SUV smashed into a metal railing and broke three wooden posts in front of Cedar River Physiotherapy on Munroe St. The tail light was smashed out of the vehicle.
  • Police assisted Terrace Fire Department with traffic control at a structure fire to a residence on Pear St. The fire was not suspicious.
  • Ongoing issued of criminal harassment. A 21 yr old man is bothering a woman. Police are working with other agencies to come to a solution to this ongoing issue.
  • Breach of a no contact condition. Police attended to a residence and observed an intoxicated man currently on a Conditional Sentence Order yelling at an intoxicated woman that he is on conditions to have no contact with. Police arrested the 46 yr old man. He was in breach of four conditions. He is held for court.
  • Police checked a brown Nissan on Hwy 37 near the Terrace Airport. The 21 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. He was issued an Immediate Roadside Prohibition. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. The man was on a Conditional Sentence Order and in breach of a no consume alcohol condition. He was arrested for breach and is held for court.
