On Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024 an injured hiker was rescued from Terrace Mountain by a combined effort of Terrace Search and Rescue, Terrace Fire Department and BC Ambulance.
At about 2:40 p.m., the fire department was requested by the ambulance service to attend the injured hiker and the fire department then asked for the help of Terrace Search and Rescue.
“Terrace Fire with the assistance of BC Ambulance and Terrace Search and Rescue successfully packaged the patient and brought the patient down off the mountain,” fire chief Chad Cooper said.
The patient was then taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Cooper called the rescue a prime example of interagency collaboration.
