TERRACE RCMP responded to approximately 59 calls for service from September 9, 8 a.m. till September 11, 8 a.m. During the same time period, there were 12 people lodged in Terrace Cells – eight of these people were lodged for public intoxication.
Downtown Terrace
Girl passed out in a doorway of a building on Park Ave. She left prior to police attendance. Checks were done of area.
False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.
Man passed out on Lakelse Ave. The 50-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.
Suspicious man on Lazelle Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Intoxicated woman on Lazelle Ave. Police arrested a 30-year-old woman for public intoxication.
False business alarm on Lakelse Ave.
Man passed out in a flower bed with his pants down on Greig Ave. A 31-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.
An intoxicated man wanting to kick an intoxicated woman out of a residence. Police attended and found the intoxicated man locked out of the residence. He was in a foul mood and belligerent. He was arrested for public intoxication.
A man left a bag in a lobby at Kalum Kabs. Police seized the bag. The man retrieved the bag from the detachment a short time later.
A woman was frightened to access her money in the Scotiabank ATM due to two men sitting inside of the ATM room, one passed out. Police transported the two men to alternate locations.
A noisy group on Lazelle Ave. Police spoke with the group and they moved on.
Possible impaired driver in a red 1994 GMC van swerving all over Sparks St./Lakelse Ave, ran the red light.
Man passed out in behind the Coast. A 50-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.
Elsewhere Terrace
Suicidal 32-year-old man. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by Emergency Health Services. He went AWOL a short time later and committed a break and enter. He was arrested. Under investigation.
A yellow and brown sparkly wallet was lost in the George Little Park on September 7th containing various cards and ID.
Suicidal 21-year-old man. Police apprehended the man under the Mental Health Act and transported him to Mills Memorial Hospital to be assessed.
Man passed out behind Finning Tractor on Evergreen St./Keith Ave. Checks were done of the area.
False residential alarm on Tuck Ave.
A person knocking on the windows of a home on Straume Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Intoxicated person passed out inside of the Copperside on Kalum St. A 33-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication.
A woman wanted an intoxicated man removed from a residence. The man was a tenant of the residence and agreed to go to bed. No offence committed. Police re-attended a short time later and the 48-year-old man was arrested.
False cellular 911 call.
Suicidal 47-year-old woman. She was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital for assessment.
A man reported his roommate smoking crack cocaine. Further details were not provided.
A two-year-old girl unresponsive. She regained consciousness and was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital. Foul play is not suspected.
Youth riding shopping carts down a hill on Pear St. Checks were done of the area.
Well-being check of a 57-year-old woman.
Domestic dispute. An offence was not committed.
Intoxicated man walking with a dog on Kalum Hill. A 26-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Prince Rupert and public intoxication. The dog was lodged in the shelter.
Intoxicated woman walking on Park Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Ammunition was found during a move into a residence and turned into the detachment for destruction.
Familial dispute. Police spoke with the people involved. A temporary solution was reached and discussion was had on further mediation for this ongoing problem.
Uttering threats investigation.
A vehicle known to police was observed speeding on Kalum St. The silver Subaru was pulled over. An amount of drugs believed to be cocaine was seized. The 53-year-old driver was arrested for the possession for the purpose of trafficking.
An intoxicated 21-year-old man attempting to fight people at the Copperside on Kalum St. Checks were done of the area.
Abandoned 911 call. A man is trying to get through a balcony window on Lazelle Ave. Checks were done of the area.
Thornhill
Theft of fuel from the Skeena Golf and Country Club. Locks were cut and access was gained to the maintenance yard. A blue barrel, a hand pump, aluminum cans, and a substantial amount of fuel was stolen. Under investigation.
A man attempting to get into a house he is not welcome in. He left prior to police attendance. Checks were done of the area.
Possible shots in the area of Dobbie St. Checks were done of the area.
False residential alarm on Sande Ave. Cancelled prior to police attendance.
Break and enter to a residence on Kerby St. Two ATV's and a 16 ft trailer, two televisions, two digital cameras, two Sony playstations, and two tote boxes full of tools were stolen. The break and enter occurred between September 9th at 5:30 p.m. and September 10 at 11 a.m.
A woman attempting to sell alarm systems on Larch Ave. Police determined from details provided that the woman was a part of the Titan alarm company in town soliciting alarms to Terrace residents. No offence committed.
Two intoxicated woman trashing a vehicle on Paquette Ave. Police arrested a 25-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman for public intoxication in the area. Under investigation.
A man riding a bike was almost hit by a cube van on Hwy 37/Hwy 16. Under investigation.
A man approached a parked police car to report that his girlfriend was drinking and that he had left so that the situation would calm down. Police noticed a visible injury to the man's eye. Under investigation.
Possible theft in progress at the Skeena Valley Golf Course at 4:30 a.m. involving a white pickup truck.
Theft of a blue 2014 Yamaha Grizzly with a brand new winch on the front. It was on a small snowmobile trailer with a metal guard on the front and various Superclamp and Artic Cat stickers on it. The theft occurred sometime overnight at the Northern Motor Inn in the north parking lot.
Hit and run at the fall fair on September 7th.
Quads on private property on Old Lakelse Lake Rd. Police spoke with two people on quads who did not realize they were on private property. The homeowner was not cooperative with police in discussing various methods to deter this ongoing problem.
Rural
A white Dodge Caravan failed to stop at a stop sign and forced another car into the oncoming lane to avoid collision. Police spoke with the people involved.
Theft from a mailbox that occurred on August 28th.
A wallet was found at Polywog Creek and turned into the detachment to be returned to its owner.
Abandoned red 1994 Ford F150 truck near the Kasiks Bridge.
Kitsumkalum
A grey 2004 Subaru lost control navigating a corner travelling northbound on West Kalum Rd. The vehicle sustained major damage and was towed. The 18-year-old driver was uninjured.
Two men in a blue Ford F150 followed a man into the Tempo Gas Station, exchanged words, and hit his vehicle. Police spoke with the people involved and obtained a different version of the events then originally reported. Everyone warned for their behavior and to stay away from each other.
