A NASS Valley grow-op case has finished its court run after two years.
Sidney Pearson received a conditional sentence of nine months plus 12 months of probation to follow for production of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and two charges of careless use or storage of a firearm.
On Jan. 18, 2009, Lisims/Nass Valley RCMP officers found more than 3.5 pounds of harvested marijuana and 26 marijuana plants on a residence on Nass Road near the Tseax River in New Aiyansh, reported police at that time.
Police also seized two handguns that weren’t licensed by the residents, said police.
At the time, Lisims/Nass Valley detachment commander Sgt. Mike Robinson said it was the first grow-op shut down in at least two years there.
Pearson must also provide a DNA sample to police, pay a $400 victim fine surcharge and is prohibited from owning or possessing firearms for life.
Two counts of possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm were stayed by the court.
The same charges against Susan Graham were all stayed.
