UPDATE:
Traffic along Hwy 37 is now reduced to a single lane near Onion Lake.
Kitimat RCMP made the announcement at 3:40 p.m. in a Facebook post. Heavy snowfall has been making travel difficult between Kitimat and Terrace.
Observers from the area posted on social media claiming police are dealing with a vehicle off the road.

Residents of Kitimat got a blast of winter today as the city has seen a significant amount of snowfall.
Highway cameras along Hwy 37 show plenty of snow and very limited visibility. There have also been reports on social media of vehicles ending up stuck in the ditch.
Trees have also been reported down along the highway. DriveBC currently has warnings on its website that the highway has slippery sections.
The Haisla Nation Council also closed their doors today at noon giving staff time to get home safely. The post office in Kitamaat Village is remaining open for its regular hours. The vaccine clinic is also still going ahead.
Environment Canada issued a special weather statement late this morning. The statement reported that somewhere between 10 to 15 centimetres would fall and it is expected to taper off this afternoon.
