Driver nearly hits parked police car

The Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 124 calls for service from September 6th, 8 AM till September 9th, 8 AM.

THE Terrace RCMP have responded to approximately 124 calls for service from September 6th, 8 AM till September 9th, 8 AM. During the same time period there were twenty six people lodged in Terrace Cells. Twenty one of these people were lodged for public intoxication.

Here are some of the calls responded to:

  • A man and woman stole a bottle of booze from the Skeena Liquor Store on September 6th shortly after 3 PM.
  • Hit and run on Lakelse Ave. A Dodge Ram truck was travelling westbound from Atwood St when a red and white handicap Dart type vehicle veered into her lane and caused damage to the side mirror and door.
  • Police checked a grey 1991 Ford F150 parked in the information sign pullout on Hwy 16 in Thornhill. The 54 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a fail. He was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle he was driving was impounded.
  • Two men walking on Sparks St were checked. Police arrested a 45 yr old man on an outstanding warrant out of Kitimat. He is held for court.
  • Police pulled over a grey 2011 Mini Cooper on Old Lakelse Dr after it almost struck a police car that was parked with emergency lights activated dealing with another incident. The 36 yr old driver provided two samples of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in fails. An Immediate Roadside Prohibition was issued and the vehicle was impounded.
  • Domestic assault on Park Ave. A 21 yr old man was arrested for assault. No injuries. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • A white Ford 2005 F150 was observed parked in a driveway on Old Lakelse Lake Dr with two different plates attached. The same truck was observed parked at a residence on Mist St later in the day with no license plates. Later on in the early hours of the morning police pulled the truck over on River Dr. The truck did not have a licence plate. It was towed. The 30 yr old driver was dealt with through the Motor Vehicle Act.
  • Two intoxicated people no longer welcome in a residence on Davis Ave. A 35 yr old woman was arrested for breaching probation by consuming alcohol. Charges are being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
  • Loss Prevention Officer of Walmart arrested a 53 yr old woman for theft. She is banned from the store. The items were returned.
  • A man worried that he is going to be beaten up on Lakelse Ave. Checks determined that there was a warrant for his arrest out of Lisims/Nass Valley. The 20 yr old man was arrested and is held for court.
  • A 25 yr old man suffered serious injuries when he was thrown from an ATV that flipped navigating a corner. The man was the passenger. He was transported to Mills Memorial Hospital by Emergency Health Services. The 27 yr old driver was uninjured. Under investigation.
  • A red 1991 Chevrolet S10 was checked on Sparks/Munthe. The 19 yr old driver had a Class 7 licence and was driving contrary to restriction. The vehicle was uninsured and was towed.
  • A bike that had been stolen in March was found at McBike when it was brought in for repairs. Police spoke with the people who brought the bike in for repairs. Under investigation.
  • An intoxicated man refusing to leave a residence on Muller Ave. The man left on his own accord. Checks determined that he was in breach of a curfew condition. Under investigation.
  • Police pulled over a green 1996 Chevrolet Blazer on Greig Ave/Emerson St. The 19 yr old driver provided a sample of breath into a roadside screening device that resulted in a warn. She was served an Immediate Roadside Prohibition and the vehicle she was driving was impounded.
  • Shoplifter in the Skeena Mall. Police arrested a 23 yr old man for shoplifting. The items were recovered and returned to the store. The man was told not to return to Skeena Mall.
  • A white 1991 Honda Civic was pulled over on Lakelse Ave. The 46 yr old driver had a notice to serve prohibition and was an impound candidate. Police issued the prohibition and the vehicle was impounded.
  • A silver and purple Baretta 18 speed mountain bike was found in a ditch on Queensway Dr.
