A driver was fined for failing to yield to a pedestrian, leading to an accident at the intersection of Sparks St. and Lazelle Ave. this morning (Oct. 13).

Terrace RCMP said they responded to a call from Emergency Health Services at 10:40 a.m. requesting police assistance at the location and that a woman had been struck on the cross walk.

“After speaking with involved parties, police determined that the woman was not struck, however, her walker had been struck, causing her to fall down,” said Const. Kelly Cates, RCMP spokesperson.

No injuries were noted at the time and the woman was taken to the local hospital as a precaution.
