The Terrace Standard has a new sales manager. Dan McGuire takes over this week from Bert Husband who is retiring from his combined position as sales manager and publisher as of Dec. 23.

Born and raised in Surrey and a resident of the Fraser Valley before family reasons brought him to Terrace, McGuire, 55, worked at Terrace Chrysler before signing on with The Terrace Standard as a sales representative in November 2019.

He was attracted to media sales for the opportunity to build long-standing relationships with clients.

“I’m very excited at the potential to help businesses thrive,” said McGuire.

When not at work, McGuire enjoys the challenge of flying model airplanes and counts listening as well as playing music as a relaxing pursuit. He’s also a volunteer with the Terrace Concert Society.

Husband said McGuire worked hard during the peak of the COVID pandemic to connect with businesses looking for ways to adapt and reinvent themselves.

“I encourage you to contact Dan so you can discuss how The Terrace Standard and Black Press Media can help your business grow,” said Husband. Black Press Media B.C. North president Mary Kemmis said she is looking forward to McGuire’s vision for The Terrace Standard.

“We’re fortunate to have someone of Dan’s ability leading the sales efforts at The Terrace Standard,” said Kemmis. She’s also assuming the publishing duties at The Terrace Standard.
