The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine (RDKS) has lifted its precautionary Boil Water Notice in the Thornhill area.

Residents and businesses affected by the warning can now resume to normal use of water.

On Oct. 20, a notice was issued to those connected to a portion of the Thornhill Community Water System to boil water before any consumption.

The Boil Water Notice applied to those receiving water service along Motz Road, Substation Avenue, Queensway Corridor (including Mark Avenue E/W, Dorman Road, Bobsein Crescent, Kenworth, Scotton, Kulspai Crescent, Maple Street, Kirsch and Pierson), Sleeping Beauty Lane and Churchill Drive.

Northern Health Authority has approved the precautionary Boil Water Advisory to be rescinded.

The planned precaution was in place as crews worked to replace water service infrastructure at the roundabout construction at Hwy 16 and Hwy 37.
