Terrace’s orange “Carebear” team won the third annual Providers Buck and Doe soccer tournament in Terrace from Sept. 21 - 22.
Battling it on the field against “Booze. Win. Repeat.” team, the Terrace Carebear team fought until the end and took the crown in the weekend tournament 4-2.
“It was a lot of fun, the guys were competitive but also included the girls because we were all able to keep up,” says Donna Lepretre. “None of us held back.”

In total, eight teams played at Bailey’s Park on the bench as this was the last final game of their outdoor season.
Five teams from Terrace, two from the Gitxsan area and one from Prince Rupert came out, with each team making sure they had two female players on the field at all times. The Terrace Carebear team had six women on theirs, which Lepretre says made their win a meaningful one.
“It’s pretty amazing, and Prince Rupert put a girl in the net which no team has ever seen before and she was phenomenal,” she says.
The teams will continue their soccer training indoors through the winter.
