PEOPLE WHO came out to a fundraiser barbecue earlier this month helped raise more than $2,500 to help with the expenses for a little boy undergoing leukemia treatment in Vancouver and his family.

A minimum donation of $3 for a burger or hot dog was the amount asked, but many people gave $10 or $20, says organizer Darlene Reid.

Another barbecue is being planned, possibly for April 7 and many other fundraisers are also in the works.
