Legion asks businesses to return wreath surveys

It was good to see our Colour Party participating in Kitimat’s July 1st Parade, and hopefully we will see Kitimat Br. 250 marching in our Riverboat Days Parade on Saturday 30th July.

It was good to see our Colour Party participating in Kitimat’s July 1st Parade, and hopefully we will see Kitimat Br. 250 marching in our Riverboat Days Parade on Saturday 30th July.

The Parade, by the way, starts at 11 a.m., and the presentation of the winning floats and other parade entrees will be given out at the Legion Hall at 1 p.m. It would be nice to see a representative of each entry in attendance.

Cmde. Joyce Bradley and her committee put many hours of their time into this parade, and your support, I am sure, would be much appreciated.

The Legion’s Barbecue is set to go that day, and will go until we are out of food.

Well the hockey season is over for another year, the playoffs this year had a little more meaning with the Canucks in the race.

Branch 13 had a large screen up for each game, and thanks to Kathy, Lorie and Dave the food was great, thanks to those members who were in attendance, however, with more than 300 members, I thought the attendance would have been better.

We need support, people – we have a little more than eight years to make it to our 100th year in support of this Community.

We aren’t going to make it without the support of you, the Members.

Congratulations to Cmde. Bill McRae and Cmde. Lance Stephens on receiving your Life Memberships, and to the other members who received their years pins, to Cmde. Harold Wyatt for his 50 years of service.

Again, 30 in attendance out of 140 invites is not good enough.

The “D’ Day Dinner on June 5th was well attended, a great meal prepared by Donna’s Kitchen and well served by our Local Scout Group.

In late May, we mailed out to 180 Businesses a survey with regards to Remembrance Day and the Sale of Wreaths for that occasions, maybe due to the Postal unrest, we have only received about one-third of the replies expected.

Please, if you, as a business, have not replied to this request, I ask that you do so as soon as possible. To those that have replied and made your choice, and have given your comments, Thank You.
