In talking with a number of Vancouver Canucks fans of late, I definitely get the feeling that 2011-12 season promises to be a very different season. Not necessarily for the team, but more-so for the long suffering fan.

The third annual Guns and Hoses charity hockey game will take place Nov. 4.

With a resumé spanning a junior world champion weight lifter, Team BC lacrosse, university hockey and soccer and most recently a player in the WHL, Terry Monture has been coaching youths in Terrace for upwards of 27 years.

A terrace rugby player has journeyed overseas as the youngest member of Team Canada for the 2011 Commonwealth Youth Games.

There were about 25 participants at this mornings bicycle biathlon, held at the Terrace Rod and Gun Club.

The Skeena Valley Runners Club will be hosting its 31 annual All Season’s Fall Run on Sunday Oct. 2.

The Terrace Rod and Gun Club’s Biathlon Terrace chapter will host the second annual Mountain Bike Biathlon Sept. 24.

A local RCMP officer has traveled to New York City to represent himself, and the country.

Local Armwrestler Allan Heinricks has once again proved his power on the national stage, earning gold in the Grand Masters category at Canadian Nationals in Ottawa Sept. 2 – 5.
