The Terrace River Kings ended their remarkable season with a loss, falling to the Dawson Creek Canucks in the B.C. senior male AA championship on March 27.

The River Kings took game one of the three game series 4-3, but the Canucks were able to hold Terrace’s high flying offence in check for the remainder of the series.

In the second game, Terrace and Dawson Creek remained level after two periods in a low scoring affair, but the Canucks scored once in the third to win 2-1 and force a deciding third game on Sunday.

Dawson Creek opened the elimination game by scoring in the first period and twice in the second. Terrace was unable to find the back of the net, ending their season with a 3-0 loss.

All three Coy Cup games took place at the Terrace Sportsplex, after the River Kings defeated the Quesnel Kangaroos to win the CIHL title.

The Dawson Creek Canucks have now won the last three Coy Cups, in 2018, 2019 and 2022. The 2020 and 2021 championships were not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
