An exciting double overtime victory had Steelheads fans rejoicing Sunday.

Smithers Steelheads win against Terrace River Kings

The Smithers Steelheads defeated the Terrace River Kings 5-2 Saturday and 6-5 Sunday in double overtime at the Smithers Civic Arena.

The Smithers Steelheads won both games this weekend at the Smithers Civic Arena.

They triumphed 5-2 Saturday and won 6-5 in overtime Sunday against the Terrace River Kings.

If Saturday’s game felt intense, Sunday’s game felt no holds barred as both teams duked it out in a game that decided who would advance to the finals in the Central Interior Hockey League playoffs.

The Steelheads will compete with the Williams Lake Stampeders next week for the championship.
